Fall
2004
In the midst of all of life’s multitudinous distractions,
we’re working through songs in bits and pieces, but with focused
deliberation. Some piano and some guitar. Stay tuned, when you can.
Looking onward, we’re hoping to breathe out a new song or
three at some shows yet to be determined, and share them with you.
Thanks for checking up on us.

Summer--we’re very happy that it’s right around the
corner.
We plan to be playing shows, maybe with more consistency, in the
next few months and onward. Please join us for them. We’re
also finding ourselves with more time to devote to the act of making
stuff up—music stuff—and will hopefully have the opportunity
to work more extensively in the upcoming months. It’s been
a wrathfully busy year, wrathful period, but it does appear like
the clouds are breaking. We look forward to sharing these slip-shod
constructions (i.e., songs) with you at various points in the summer
(and various points thereafter), and hope you’ll keep us company
when we do.
Thanks to the friends who stopped by at Pete’s last
month. It was a somewhat rare moment, too, considering that my brother
Gene, who’s now in LA working on music ventures of his own,
was there to accompany his older sister (me) on guitar, with all
his finger-picking sophistications--an alarmingly talented person,
as those who were present can testify.
In the meanwhile, we extend a hearty greeting to anyone and everyone.
Go! Indulge in early summer revelry and porch side
conversations, and we hope we’ll be seeing some of you at
a musical point in the near future.

There's
still that winter chill in the air, but you can sense the next season
breaking through, even if it's having a bit of trouble staking its
ground. Soon enough, we hope, it'll take its rightful place.
So, while Que Verde is busy praying for respite from winter's stubbornly
clinging fingers with one hand, we'll slowly be putting forth modest
efforts to play more shows, with the other.
We just played a show at Barnard, hosted by WBAR, the college radio
station. Books and proceeds were donated to a girls' rock and roll
camp, (such an appealing and happy idea, even though we had absolutely
no part in coming up with it or contributing in any extraordinary
way.) It was really wonderful to play, a bit shy as we were, and
out of practice. But what a nice way to get our feet wet again.
So we thank WBAR/Sarah D. for inviting us, for everyone who listened,
and for that ONE person who bought a record--we applaud your bravery,
and remember you.
Later this month, we'll be playing at Pete's Candy Store. Come out
to raise a glass to what we hope will be Springtime weather on our
shoulders by then. Stay warm, packing and moth-balling those wool
sweaters one by one, and we hope we'll see you later in the month.

February
2004
A frostbitten Happy New Year to you. To be quietly exhaled amid
the daily mayhem of our complicated, fragile yet profoundly resilient
post-modern existence, The Most Important Thing is set
for release on February 24, and will be available for ordering here.
They've been sitting cozy in cardboard boxes for the past few weeks,
incubating for readiness and warmth. We'll package and send them
with tender care starting on the above date, (extra padding so not
a single song will suffer the seasonal frostbite).
Cheers.
On another note, (no pun intended), we've FINALLY updated the mp3
page. A miracle to be celebrated! The menu now includes several
tracks from the new record, and two compilation tracks--the Patty
Duke cover that Christine did for TQR&R some months ago, and
an original track that surfaced on a Teenbeat Sampler a few years
back.
Kind thanks for your armchair visit. Do come again.

October 2003
As it looks now, we're anticipating The Most Important Thing
to be in your hands and in between your ears in November. Currently,
the record is in its final stages and off to exotic, far off places
like Tenafly, N.J., where it's being mastered, and then Indiana,
where it'll be printed and pressed, and in Portland, OR, where Ranee
is working on cover art, photos, and other such details to make
sure that the record is suitably dressed. (It IS Autumn, AND brisk
outside, you know). Records will be available to order on this site
soon, so please stay tuned.
Otherwise, we're working on new songs, Christine's starting to mess
around on the drums, and Fall has descended on NYC with a defiant
chill in the air, so who knows what's to be expected in the coming
months?
That double 7-inch is done! 8 bands, 8 covers of Patty Duke songs
brought to you courtesy of Top Quality Rock & Roll Records.
We'll put the mp3 of the cover we did (Give A Little More) on our--as
it stands now--relatively ancient mp3 page. We promise to update
those soon on behalf of the three or four folks who actually visit
us at this site. Is that you? Then cheers, and we thank you.
You can order the prettily packaged 7-inches from Top
Quality starting Oct 31, or from Christine directly. We'll soon
have up on the site a place where you can buy our modest array of
musical offerings online. For now, mail order is the order of the
day. Please email info@que-verde.com
for mail order details.

There's a double 7-inch to be released sometime in the not too distant
future as part of Top Quality Rock N Roll's Patty Duke series. Christine
does a cover of the Patty song Give A Little More. Check out the
irrepressible songs, zines and label here.
The 7-inch also includes tracks from The Falldowns, Saturday Looks
Good to Me, The Come Ons, Windy & Carl, and other top quality
folk.

Fall
2002
Welcome.
My lovely cousin Ranee designed this site, which we hope to update
monthly. Here, we'll list any upcoming shows or bits of news. When
it's quiet, we'll post something that we think is worth a look,
a read, or a listen. So make sure to check up on us from time to
time.
Thanks.
